A place for my head...

Jan 8th
Well it’s January 8th now… and I’ve yet to post anything in a month. Talk about falling behind. Let’s see what the past month has held for us….
1. Got a high school friend a job working with me… ironic that we both end up in the same town, and now 10 years after graduation… work together.
2. Went to Mexico for Stu & Lesa’s “wedding”… plus a beautiful wrap up of an incredible year. This was by far my best Mexico trip yet, and was spent with a group of incredible folks. This makes my 6th trip to Mexico… and was able to do a lot of the things I’d wanted to do all the previous times.
I rode a horse on the beach. We rented 4-wheelers and shredded the dunes for 2 hours. Took a sunset margarita cruise (plus I took a sunset swim in 60’ water) Swam at midnight (oh wait… I’ve done that one before) Relaxed beyond belief… never get tired of that one. Ate like a king… a huge thank-you to Lesa and her fabulous party planning abilities. She can really through a party…
3. Well… sadly the last is the most unfortunate… despite months of staying healthy while others were sick. It has finally caught up with me. I too now have spent a weekend in bed, feeling miserable. Hopefully it’s in the passing phase now and I soon am back to my lively, trouble-causing self… until then… I’ll suffer quietly.
As mom always said… “if you’re gonna die… can you please die quietly?”
So this was my farewell to last year… I bid it adieu.
Dec 3rd
Well, after 10 beautiful nights in a tropical paradise… the last day has finally came. Weather was incredible, snorkeling was pretty good, mostly just the first day. Food was alright…. spendy as hell! But the relaxation… it made up for any shortcomings there may have been. Not sure I’m ramped up to come here and spend this amount of cash again… but it’s in the list of great places to go on my list now. Sunset at 5PM really cuts the days short, and when your travel friends aren’t night owls… the tendancy to crash by 10PM came often. Being third wheel wasn’t quite as bad as I had worried… can’t say it’s my favorite way to travel though. None the less, I love my friends for inviting me, and had a great time with them as always.
So, back to the norm… 8-5… lousy traffic… cold, wet weather… and no sunshine. I’m dreading the latter more than anything.
So relaxed and nicely tanned…. I bid farewell to this beautiful place on earth.
Mahalo…
Nov 15th
For a while now, I’ve either not posted, or posted something trivial and a little depressing. Haven’t quite figured out what my deal is yet, but I’m working on it. So in the mean time I’ll sit and wax a little, as I do, for nothing more than my own entertainment. And well… if anyone is reading, to let you know I am alive.
Current thoughts:
1. How the heck do I keep that aquarium more sparkly clean. Really must learn the chemistry behind that process!
2. I should really be asleep right now, but my mind is wandering around as usual.
3. I’ll be on the beach in Maui in less than 10 days… oddly I’m a little melancholy about that part yet. Perhaps the influx of nasty weather here has me dulled a bit?
4. Sadly… money… it really is a ruthless part of our lives. Not thinking about how I need more… just pondering my approaches at spending less. And making a turn around on what I do have.
5. Photos… hoping my Canon Rebel body isn’t screwed up. Just bought a new lens (nice chunk of $$) and still the photos are coming out just a bit out of focus. Quite disheartening. On a good note, I finally replaced the LCD in my point-and-shoot Canon, so it lives once again.
Time to shut this down, and turn out the lights… and head off to sleep…. good night my friends.
